The Conservation Resources Service Project: Mission Statement
The mission and purpose of the Conservation Resources Service Project is simple: Bringing a higher level of awareness of the state of our natural environment to mankind. The resulting awareness will hopefully spark a desire to become educated in regards to what an individual or group can do to make a difference. This, in the end, will foster a deeper state of Environmental Stewardship in those who take the first steps towards awareness.
In addition:
This project was born as part of a Woodbadge "Ticket" in October 2008. In the ensuing 18 months, the project took on a life of it's own. Oringinall, the plan was simply to connect Scouting Units in the Western Massachussetts Council, BSA with the communities in which they are chartered. In doing so, it was initial thought to bring a heightened sense of conneciton between Scouting unit and community. Like many good intentions, the project grew beyond it;s initial scope, and is gradually taking shape into a resource clearinghouse for Conservation, Environmental Awareness & Management, and more.
